Bye-Bye, SIBO.

My Honest FoodMarble AIRE Review After the Elemental Diet

Before: my bloated stomach during SIBO

After: my flat stomach after SIBO cleared
After

When my elemental diet ended on November 21, 2025, I had one question: did it actually work? I didn’t want to guess. I needed to know.

You can read how I got here in UH-OH, SIBO. This is the happy sequel, and my honest review of the little device that gave me my answer.

Meet My FoodMarble AIRE

The FoodMarble AIRE is a handheld breath tester that measures hydrogen and methane, right at home. You breathe into it, the app reads your breath, and you get a score out of 10.

It’s lightweight and small enough to put bedside or in a purse, so a quick morning check fit right into my routine.

How I Used It With My Naturopath

I used my FoodMarble with my naturopath for the test that mattered most: my lactulose SIBO test, right as the elemental diet ended.

On November 21, 2025, the day my elemental diet ended, I did a lactulose challenge with my FoodMarble. I started at 5:33 am and was done at 8:43 am. An early morning, but so worth it.

FoodMarble app screen titled Lactulose, Friday 21 November 2025, 5:33 am, saying the lactulose challenge is complete and, in the app’s words, the results have been sent to your clinician, with a line chart of two breath gas readings from about 5:30 to 8:45 am on a 0 to 10 scale; one line jumps up at the very end. Challenge details: start time 5:33 am, completion time 8:43 am.
My FoodMarble lactulose challenge on November 21, 2025, from 5:33 to 8:43 am. The jump at the very end was my reverse blow.

See that jump at the very end? That was me. I accidentally blew into my FoodMarble backwards, which gave one artifact methane reading.

The results went straight to my naturopath, who knew exactly what happened with that last reading and still declared me SIBO free. That was my first real SIBO test to make sure the elemental diet worked, and it did. Every single shake was worth it.

While I reintroduced food and caffeine, the only tea I drank was organic black tea. It worked wonders!

Before and After the Elemental Diet

The numbers tell one part of the story, but my body told the rest. Here’s me before the elemental diet, and on the day I finished it.

My Monthly Check-Ins

From that test on, I was on my own. I wanted to keep an eye on things, so about once a month I did a morning fermentation check with my FoodMarble.

Every single reading came back LOW. Here are my morning scores side by side, including one from November 19, two days before I finished the elemental diet.

Why I Love My FoodMarble

  • Lightweight and small enough to keep bedside or in my purse
  • Easy: breathe in, and the score shows up in the app
  • Real numbers I could track month after month, not guesses
  • Kept me confident on my own after my naturopath cleared me
  • Peace of mind after the elemental diet

Learn From My Mistake

Here’s a tip I learned the hard way, during my lactulose test of all times: blow into the right end! That backwards blow is the jump you see at the end of my chart. Double-check how you’re holding your FoodMarble before you exhale. And if a reading starts off with an error, don’t panic. In my experience, the readings stabilize after.

What I loved most was that I wasn’t guessing anymore. Once my naturopath cleared me, I had real numbers I could track on my own, and after everything it took to get here, that peace of mind means the world to me.
